HISTORY

The UTPC was founded in 2014 by Torben Taros and Jan Sebastian Steffen – both University of Twente (UT) alumni. Taking on a dual-CEO role, the co-founders established a team of six highly ambitious students from the UT to set the ground for an event that later turned out to be a great success. One year later, on February 27th, 2015 the first edition of the UTPC took place on the UT campus in Enschede, the Netherlands. What started as an effort to increase the UT’s reputation and degree of business involvement, became an event that attracts students from various universities from all over Europe.

75 participants – 8 corporate sponsors – 4 keynote speeches – 4 workshops – 1 career fair

With the German premium car manufacturer AUDI A.G., the UTPC landed a prestigious global player as the main sponsor of the 2015 event. After their graduation in 2015, Torben and Jan remain involved as strategic advisors of the UTPC and support the new board with their extensive knowledge and network to make the following editions of the UTPC as notable as the first one.
